  1. I've got 2 problems (or bugs) regarding the menu feature in the new Tsunami DVD Author Pro. Firstly, no matter what I set the motion menu background length to, it doesn't seem to want to go over 18 secs - can somebody confirm this? Also, I've got one self-made video file that when rendered in the final menu has slight pauses every few seconds - anybody else had this (file plays fine in other apps and works fine in DVDLab Pro)? Has anybody else got any other issues with the software?

Edit: If anybody wants to have a go with the 'pausing' video, I've uploaded it to: http://www.zen86095.zen.co.uk/Starfield_NTSC.rar (23mb).

I have none of your problems and have completed over 14 discs so far without problem. Motion Menu is fine on any length set.

I have a couple of problems as well, when it comes to burning a disc I get an error message when I try to input a name for the disc, and also some of the button templates display Japanese characters when selected to use them on a menu...............but not when you choose which ones to use.

  4. I'd like to disable that *$%^"# smart rendering feature. Makes it next to impossible to use MPG-1 files for me.

  5. Here is my problem:

When I use the source wizard to import DVD video file; some files that I
import that are listed in the title list in Dolby Digital 48000Hz, 6ch are
downgraded to Dolby digital stereo. Note that I do the same thing with
other file that are listed to 6ch...and they are not downgraded.

    What is the problem?
Why are they downgraded do stereo?

P.S The source file are indeed in Dolby digital 6ch, that is sure
P.P.S The files come from a DVD music video (Eric Clapton One more car is one of them) that I have that are indeed in Dolby digital 6 ch
P.P.P.S The default audio checkbox is always uncheck

It's new software, contact the suppliers and tell them about the problems. Or haven't you actually paid for it........

At the moment you can neither buy nor "aquire" it, because its only released as a free-30-day-trial-version for download so far.

In that case it sounds like they've released it in beta format and would want to know of any problems people are having. So rather than trying to find answers or work arounds on here, go back to them.

I'm still using TDA 1.6. I haven't had time to read up on it and use it. I have used the writing tool that comes with it and have had no problems with it.

  13. Good thing I decided not to buy 2.0. It's not even worth the $50 discount for "loyal customers". I tried the demo, and see nothing "Pro" about it. Still no subtitle support, can't select frame-accurate motion menus, can't add transition clips between videos, can't totally hide a first play track.(Menu is still there.). DVD Writing Tool does not accurately show space of DVD. Only lets you write about 4438MB, but DVD has 4482MB. Space is definitely left over. Also has no Buffer underrun protection. But bad things aside, I still like using TDA vs other programs, because it's so easy to create a DVD fast. I tried DVD-Lab, but had it crash numerous times on me and they haven't added true audio preview. You have to open up their "pro tools" to preview audio.

I think I'm just going to upgrade my Sony Movie Studio to Sony Vegas 6 + DVD. Expensive, yes, but by the time TDA gets more features, I would've spent the same $$$ on it's upgrades.

It does a horrible job of determining the final project size. A project I just did showed a projected size of around 3GB and actually came out to 4.92GB.

I also want to turn off that damn renderer.
