The AVT retails for about $100 less and I've heard that it's just as effective on frame sync/Macrovision errors. Any opinions on whether I should spend the extra $100 for the Datavideo or not?

I own one of each. I like them both.
The AVT-8710 proc amp is useful.
The TBC-1000 output split is useful.
The TBC-1000 can fix mild jitter sometimes too.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
