Wondered what you thought of the R200 printer for those who have this printer? I know about the cd/DVD tray issues, but what about the overall print quality of pictures?

  2. Have had the R200 for quite a while and have been happy with it. It produces great DVD prints as well as pictures, but in the long run, I have stopped printing "bulk photos" from it. Why? Well, with Snapfish coming out with free photos every other week or so, its just cheaper.

I have R200 and Canon ip3000. I think R200 is a little bit better on CD/DVD printing. Canon is good for refill(much easy) and ink level is accurate. Epson monitor the ink level by counting.

I didn't think there was an R220. I know there's the R300 series with the R320 and R300M. May have to check the Epson site for specs on an R220. I've got an R320 which has the same print engine as the R200 series I believe. The only difference I'm aware of is it has PC-less printing capabilities and and preview LCD screen. It also doubles as a memory card reader when plugged in to a PC.

I use mine almost solely for CD/DVD printing as I have Sony photo printers at work and a good Xerox color laser printer at home for everything else. I have printed a few borderless photos on the 4x6" Epson paper and they turned out pretty nice for an inkjet. I also have an Everst II thermal disc printer at work which does the laminate color prints to CD/DVD but when it comes to halftones and photos the Epson inkjet wins out pretty easily.

  6. I have the R300. It's great for DVDs but I don't print much else on it. The print quality is good for photo, but it drains ink far too fast to make it a good option for photo work IMO. I'm planning to get an HP for eveything else. I can print text on draft quality with the HPs and still have excellent looking text. The epson's draft printing looks like total ass.

No mention of an R220 at the Epson website for the US. Only difference I could see from the BB site was that the R220 has USB 2.0 support. *shrugs*

best buy and circuit city are both selling this printer for $99 with a $20 rebate. rebates listed at each store shows the same mailing address so it must be a manufact. rebate.. Sams club has this printer for $79 but mentions no rebate. Curious if i could use the rebate on the printer when buying it from sams? then i could get it for $59

It looks like BB has the R220

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7384948&type=product&productCategoryId=p...=1122654460628

    and the R340

queued up for pre-ordering. I'd been considering the R200 or the R320, but I'm glad I waited.

my local BestBuy has no stock of the R200 so i wonder if its being replaced by the R220. Maybe some new improvements to the cd/dvd tray. Need to buy something soon since i have the BB 10% coupons for this weekend.

Forget the R340 if what BB's website says is true. The new look is kinda nice but now it only has the single LCD display for preview instead of the color LCD in addition to the monochrome LCD that shows the printers stats and menus simulatneously. I'd rather have that then the single color LCD. If you want a larger preview LCD get the R300M, it has a bigger color LCD than the R320 but it doesn't fold down I don't think. Also the R340 touts USB 1.1 instead of 2.0. If you're using it as a card reader in addition to being a printer this will make a difference.

Done 50 or so dvds and 50+ case covers, all print out beautifully. Also, it would depend on the quality of the scan if you were printing a picture.
