I have an AVI file from my DV camcorder
its of a wedding and its very dark
i am using the brightness/contrast filter in virtualdub
by making it more bright and playing with the contrast i can get it better than it is
i know garbage in garbage out and im content with what i got after the filter
but is there anything else i can do to get it clearer
are there any other ideas or filters that i can use to make it clearer
thanks in advance

MSU Smart Brightness 1.0 may be one to try. Here's one site with it: http://www.soft32.com/download_102722.html

Hi sifaga,
What video editing software (if any, and apart from VirtualDub) do you have access to?
I ask coz I use Premiere Pro and I know that that has all sorts of manipulation / filter-type functions. That said, I'm not greatly familiar with them but they may be more comprehensive than VirtualDub. Of course, they could be a load of cr@p - but I'd hope / expect not with Premiere Pro 1.5!!!
I should say that I've not used the brightness / contrast filters in VirtualDub, so they may well be comparable to Premiere Pro...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
