While ElGato's EyeTV is king, I see that Miglia has introduced EvolutionTV for Mac. http://miglia.com/products/video/evolutiontv/index.html.
It can encode MPEG 2, MPEG 4 or Divx. The shipping date is supposed to be March 15. Anyone know about it? Miglia makes a good analog-to-DV converter so this could be a good unit. But little is known. There aren't even any reports about it at xlr8yourmac.com.

Seems more comparable to Plextor's ConvertX than the EyeTV Wonder or 200. No EyeTV models do hardware encoded DivX. Barely anything mentioned about the software, e.g. does it require iCal for scheduled recordings? I suppose more info will probably be sparse until after March 15th.

The compliant file inport into iDVD 5 is an intersting item!
It looks like USB and internal compresson box. -
You meant iMovie 5.
The product page says:
With EvolutionTV you can record MPEG-4 files directly compatible with iMovie 5!
Emphasis added to directly since EyeTV MPEG-4 recordings need exporting before they're compatible with every app I know of, which can be inconvenient since the software doesn't have any built-in batch processing. I think there's enough AppleScript support for scripting that but my AS skills are non-existent and I haven't tried it yet.
I'm guessing EvolutionTV software will be the same as what ships with AlchemyTV DVR, updated for USB support.
The EyeTV 200 is a FireWire device, which I prefer (and already mentioned). -
You can also download the MovieGate PlugIn for Evolution which
will convert your MPEG-2 recording as DVD with chapter marker.
