It's amazing how many educated people speak ghetto. I've heard engineers (the non choo-choo kind) say "baby daddy".

Nothing wrong with that. Lot's of people are raised ghetto and through some stroke of luck or hard work, become educated. But they'll speak whatever language they're most comfortable thinking in.

It's like being bi-lingual. You prefer to speak the language your thoughts are formed in rather than translating everything in your head before you say it. Except when there's a need of course.

No, they're not speaking old-school ghetto. Some of these are people from my childhood who never spoke that way before. Besides, education tends to remove the slang factor. I'd hardly say that you can become educated through "some stroke of luck". This is purely "I'm hip! I can say 'Fo' shizzle!'"

Bi-lingual (or multi-ligual) is different. You wouldn't speak Cantonese to someone who speaks Spanish (if you can speak Spanish). Preference doesn't really come into play.

'Fo' shizzle God! I hate that term. I heard it off the stupid Barq's commercial before I ever heard anyone really ghetto say it. Such a poser's word.

    stroke of luck= money

"education removes the slang factor" - no, not necessarily. Not if that's what you're comfortable with. You might start old school and then increase your vocabulary as time goes on, but I wouldn't say by much.

But if they never spoke that way before then that's just hillarious. And to do it to a non-ghetto person just to impress them...
