Hi,
I have this problem with toolame:
Everytime I use toolame whether
1. integrated with TMPGEnc
2. externally using toolame GUI
3. converting my audio into wav using VirtualDub, resample to 44KHZ and then using the resampled wav file for encoding via toolame.
I get this message at the end of the encoding in the
MS-DOS screen:
"Insufficient PCM Input for 1 frame - filling out with zeros
Hit end of audio data"
and then some statistics would appear with bit rate 224
Following that:
TMPGEnc will continue to encode as per normal.
I hear the sound too but the quality is about the same
as without toolame so I suspect TMPGEnc continues to
encode the audio using its internal encoder.
Does this error message with toolame always appear?
Hope some expert can help me with this.

That message doesn't always appear.. It sounds like your wav file is fucked... though I don't know where

Funny, I have the "toolame dumps out of encoding on the last frame" problem...
Did you try simply using TMPGEnc to encode the audio? Difference is negligable, except for time. If TMPGEnc doesn't work, your file is... well... play "taps" for it. -
Hi Homeperz,
I did use TMPGEnc alone to encode the audio and I had no problems.
I merely wanted to test out the difference between toolame and TMPGEnc's internal encoder.

Like I said, it's really negligable (in fact, I don't notice the difference at all). It's your call.
I'll warn you though, for as good as people claim Toolame is, it seems to be a LOT more buggy than TMPGEnc alone. So maybe you won't have a choice in the matter!
Good luck -
Weird, I am having this very same problem. tooLAME has been
working just fine with TMPGEnc 2.0 for the past few
months, and now all of the sudden I get the same weird
"Insufficient PCM Input..." error that Gallen reports.
If I let it complete encoding it sounds like the last
fraction of a second of the audio is missing (not encoded).
I don't understand why it would stop working like this.
Oh well, I will try SCMPX and see how that works out.
Question: Any opinions on the sound quality of SCMPX vs
tooLAME vs TMPGEnc? Any opinions about SCMPX in general?
Thanks,

well SCMPX is a very good Mp2 encoder it has all the tools you nedd to encode to MP2 like the change the downsample to 44.1Hz..i recommend it but it is a bit too slow
-
yes SCMPX is slower then toolame....tolame is the fastest FREE mp2 encoder.....
