Pioneer DVR-633H-S Record Speed Problem

For some reason the recorder will randomly record at the EP speed despite being programmed to record on a higher speed.

All programs are programmed manually and I am using the cable mouse controlling a motorola cable box through L1.

eg. I have programmed it to record a program weekly at the LP speed; it will record at the right speed one week only to record at the EP speed the next.

This does not happen with all programs and seems to happen randomly. The default recording speed is set at SP.

After trying to use the TVguide to program without success, I have tried turning off all channels on the TVGuide listing. The TVguide now does not display any shows. I have tried to disable the EPG after reading suggestions here. All without success. Using the postal code of A0A0A0 made the problem worse, as more programs recorded at the wrong speed.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Do you record to HDD ?

Yes All recording is done onto the Harddrive first.

No, I just got this recorder so it's almost totally empty.
