  1. Hi!

    I have a problem.

Im making this dvd with dvd lab pro and it cointains 1 main movie, and 3 smaller clips.
from what i understand, I have to place all of the video's on a VTS each, so my question is: Can I make a "bonus" section (for the clips) in the menus for the main movie and links to the other VTS's from there?

You only have to put the clips in different titlesets (VTS's) if any of the following is true

    1. They have different aspect ratios
    2. They have different audio formats
    3. They have different resolutions

If they are all essentially the same (same AR, same audio format, same resolution) then you don't have to have multiple VTS's.

If you do need to create multiple VTS's then DVD Lab Pro will quite happily accommodate this. You should read the help file regarding how to set up correct menus to bridge the VTS structure and give access to all your clips, but it isn't difficult.

    Exactly what gunslinger said.

But if you do need to make multiple VTS make your main menu a VMG instead. From there you can link all the movies and then draw connections to have them link back to the VMG menu and just design it as a normal. (You can make switched menus from VMG's as well.)

And yes, you can drop a bonus section pretty much wherever you want.

  4. Thanks i gave that bridge thing a shot and it worked

now this might be a whole other problem but ill try to ask it here.. my main movie is giving me a hard time now :P

The first 5 minutes or so goes in slow motion, only the video, not the audio.. so after those 5 minutes everything is all out of sync.
I switched the original ac3 audio with improved lpcm audio, and the 2 are in perfect sync, but can that cause any problem? ive done this before and never had this problem

and another thing, recently ive been getting a "0 GOP" error? on every single video i demux.. whats that all about?

Regarding the audio, I don't see why it would cause a problem, but I couldn't say for sure. I doubt it though.

You're getting "0 GOP" from dvdlab? It probably means that your file has open GOPs (which means your frames are set up as IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBPBB.) Dvdlab likes closed GOPs (IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBP) for chapter and sub accuracy. It will accept open GOPs as well, and sometimes will do the project without complaining, but if it starts to suddenly act schizo on you (as it might with multiple vts in your project) this could be the cause.

In such a case you'd have to go back and re-encode your video and select "closed GOPs" within your encoding software.

  6. I just compiled it again but changing back to the ac3 audio and now the problem is gone.. so the LPCM is causing it somehow.. its weird because the 2 are exactly the same length

I would report it in the DVD Lab forums at mediachance. The author/lead programmer, Oscar, hangs out there and takes a keen interest in all feedback.
