Is it possible to change a files aspect ratio. I have a avi which G spot tells me the ratio is 640x240(2.667:1) when I convert to dvd I have to use 4 times zoom on my player to get movie to cover the screen.
Is there anyway I can change the ratio BEFORE I covert it to DVDl

  2. Yes, but you'll be missing the edges. Or you'll be stretching the picture vertically. Just about every video editing program has resizing and cropping filters.

That question is asked here every day. Just do a search...

Just to be sure...it shouldn't cover the entire screen...it should have black bars top/bottom OR no black bars, but the left and right edges should touch the edges of screen but NOT the top/bottom.

2.667:1 will always have blck bars unless it is cropped back to either 1.78 (for 16:9 encoding) or 1.33 (for 4:3) encoding). Or you can have it stretch vertically to fill the screen.
