Godaddy has this domain name grabber service for $18.99 a year.
Where they went wrong is they just added a 2 week limbo period and don't tell you the domain has already been auctioned off 2 weeks ago. I just signed up for the grabber and got screwed. Honestly...why would anyone signup for a domain grabber if the domain just got registered to someone else? There was absolutely no record of the domain at godaddy or their sister site domain name aftermarket for 2 weeks prior to all this. All that was displayed was a "expired domain" page. Since they mislead people, have a no-return policy and have pulled the rug out from under me, I have no choice but to return the favor.
Greedy bastards...

Ha ha...yep.
I emptied my $ out of my account so they couldn't charge me...then realized my bank would actually pay them anyway and tack a service charge on top of it all.
Had to put the $ back in and godaddy just took it out.
They don't seem to realize that they're misleading people into buying domain grabbers by displaying an "expired" sign on the actual domain when it has already gone to auction weeks ago.
The very least they can do is put up a "expired - auctioned off - coming soon" sign on the domain.

Godaddy is a shit registrar. I think people that suggest them are cheap bastards usually, not really paying attention to the service itself.

I did as much research as possible before signing up for the drop catch. The whois didn't even have a "last updated" but merely said "there is no record of this domain" leading me to believe it was soon to be returned to the pool of names available. The "expired domain" splash page was up as late as last Saturday and just not true. I think their system leaves out information to make an intelligent business decision.
I'm thinking of transferring my domains now but would need a good recommendation.
Thx
