I have collection of videos from my analog camcorder that I converted to DV using my new digital camcorder as analog-digital converter. All the files are in type-1 DV. Now I decided to convert them to type-2 DV and burn on DVD as backup (not author, but just burn...). Problem is that there are few files that I can't convert. While converting from type-1 to type-2 error appears. I've tried two times but it didn't work. I thought that maybe those files are corrupted so I opened them in media player and playbacked from the beginning to the end and it played without any problems. What shoud I do now? What could be wrong with my files?

    greetings

Maybe save the audio out as a WAV in VirtualDub and then mux the WAV back in? It sounds like something is corrupted in the DV, maybe the stream format header.

Yeah, but the problem is that Virtual Dub can't read audio from type-1 files. That's why I'm converting them to type-2.

    Another clue:
I've just opened those "corrupted" files using Mainconcept MPEG Encoder and created *.mpeg file from the source DV without any problems.

    Update:
I've downloaded newest version of Virtual Dub and it can read type-1 files.
So now there is no need for me to convert type-1 to type-2, but still the "corrupted" files case is a mystery.
