  1. i used TMPGEncDVDAuthor to make a mpg out of a real dvd, then i made a automatic mpg with Mpeg Video Wizard, then tryed to make a dvd with TDA, but i got this error

*The combined bitrate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a standard DVD.

The combined bitrate of the video and audio of clip "xxxx" of track "xxxx" is exceeding the upper limit for a standard DVD.
The current bitrate is xxx kbps for video, xxx kbps for audio, and xxx kbps combined.
It is necessary with a combined bitrate of less than 9.848Mbps (9848kbps).

For a standard DVD, it is necessary with a combined bitrate (video and audio) lower than 9.8Mbps (9848kbps).

With a bitrate higher than 9.8Mbps it becomes a nonstandard DVD, and we cannot guarantee that this will play correctly in a DVD player.

If you are making a non-standard DVD, it might be different from the specifications that your DVD player supports. Please check the maximum supported bitrate of your DVD player.

If you are re-encoding to the appropriate bitrate for Linear PCM audio, AC-3 audio (max 448 kbps), and mp2 audio (Max 384 kbps) the bitrate should be within the limit.

Please also make sure that the combined bitrate for the captured clip is within the limit.
now if i used the automatic option, why would it not be supported by a dvd player? i tryed the dvd on my dvd player (APEX AD-1010W) and it worked fine, but then i tryed it on my brothers, witch is a way better dvd player and it dont work. why is that, i mean my dvd player doesnt even play vcd/svcd is it because i picked the wrong audio, when making the mpg with TDA

The last several versions of TDA always display the message. I ignore it and never had a problem with play back.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

In order for your DVD to comply with the spec, the video bitrate must be less than 9800kbps, and the combined video and audio bitrates must be less than 10080kbps. so the bitrates of your MPEG file must exceed either one or both these conditions.
    If in doubt, Google it.

You can demux and re-encode to a desired spec. I generally use 352X480 and 192 for audio. Using 720X480, even with reduced bitrate, can lead to an over sized file. This way-no problems. I convert AC3 to wav because Tmpgenc 2.5 does not accept AC3 audio. 2.5 can demux the audio though.
As stated above you can ignore the message, if your player accepts it.
