I have a ATI TV Wonder Pro PCI card. I installed the MMC that came on the CD and then I downloaded the new version from ATI's site from the drivers page for my product. Every time I try to install the new version the installer just says Checking Operating System version, Configuring Windows Installer, and then minimizes and then just quits. What's going on? I have DirectX and I've installed all the components from their site. By the way the MMC that is on the CD is 8.2.

I have the same card and am currently using version 9.03. Never had a problem with any version upgrades.

  3. Hello,

I just went thru this today wit my own ATI MMC. You need to down load the un install utility form the ATI web site. It is in the software/drivers update area. Run that program and completely remove everything ATI off your hard drive. After that, double check in the ADD/Remove programs that all is removed, if not, remove the rest in ADD/ Remove.

then down load the latest drivers for your card. Mine was 5.8 for the x800xt for windows xp.

then down load the three Parts of the latest version of the MMC. It is ver. 9.08. Then intsall the three parts in the order as they appeared on the web site ie top to bottom.

The middle install can be tricky, it comes up to menu asking you what install you want to use, one of the two options causes you to loop back over and over, I forgot which one. ATI told me to choose the other.

One of the installs will also ask you to insert your installation disk to verify ownership.

Call ATI if you have trouble getting thru that middle install.

On their site you can choose between "panel" and "control center". I chose control center as I think this offers more control. If your current version is working ok then you do not need to worry about down loading that micro soft framework file they talk about.

lastly, down load the latest version of the controller if you even use it. I do not use mine, so I did not bother.
