  1. Firstly my apologise for asking such a newbie question. I have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to work. My problem is that I have an avi file in Japanese. It came with what I thought English subtitles. However, when I played the avi file, the subtitiles were in Japanese. Using SubResync I discover that there are English subtitles on the .idx and .sub file. The list is like so:
    00-Japanese
    01-Japanese
    02-English
    03-English
So my question, is there a way to play the English subtitiles instead of the Japanese?

    Thank you.

Your player should let you select. If you are talking about a standalone player then you may have to remove the other subs to get the English to display.

Could also OCR to say an srt via SubRip. Only takes a few minutes, is more compatible and for PC playback lets you control the font.

  3. Thanks for the tip but it seems that I have to type the whole subs again eventhough its already there. Is this correct?

You should only need to type in each letter once or twice (italic version). Maybe sometimes it will think two letters is one symbol.

If you are typing the whole thing out then maybe they just used a bad font that the OCR engine is having trouble with?

  5. I had to type certain letters, as you said. But then the words are not coming out correctly. Seems to skip certain alphabet.
