  1. I have a DVD which seems to get into error recovery in a few spots. It stays on a frame for a minute and then move on. In ohter spots, it stays there forever. Sometimes a step forward may get it to continue to play. I am not sure. But I think that I may have a bad (corrupted) VOB file. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. I don't mind dropping the picture quality to VCD (if I have to) as long as I can get it to play continuously.

  2. I've had similar jumpiness and sometimes the film just stalling completely. When I tried different media manafacturer it seems to make it better, so I'm guessing that a large part of it could just be the actual DVD media itself. Have you used your current media/media manafacturer before without any problems? If not then try a different make.

Is this a DVD you created/burned yourself, or is it a commercial DVD ?

Is it happening on your settop DVD player or your PC ? or both ?

This sort of behaviour is generally associated with media - be it a bad burn, or incompatible media with your DVD player.
    If in doubt, Google it.
