    Hi all,

    Please, does anyone know a sw that would allow me to desgign my own DVD cover ?

    Note that I'm not talking about a graphic software like Photoshop or so, I need a sw that would present me a DVD cover template in which I could just type in its title or add a picture if I desire or not;

    Thanks,
    Zetti

  2. Are you looking for a template for the DVD case inserts, or an actual disc label to stick on the DVD itself? I very much recommend not putting labels on DVDs for a bunch of reasons ... ...

    But in any case, you can find a bunch of shareware programs to make labels like this (DVD case labels also) just by doing a search on "DVD Labels" at www.shareware.com. Most of these programs have at least a 15-day free trial and you'll probably find something that'll work for ya.

    Just offhand I know that meritline has a truly free CD/DVD label software program with some very basic but pretty useful features, go to shareware.com and search on the name "EZ Label Xpress." It's designed for meritline labels (hence the free price!) but, for something like DVD case inserts, you can just print on regular paper and cut blank edges off the printed label and that'll fit right in your case.

    Good luck!

    Thanks, but it doesn't allow me to type in the disc title, spine, etc; it's just a print software - not whatI want,

    Thanks anyway,

    If you've got Nero, it has a cover designer included. Check under All Programs | (Ahead) Nero | Nero Cover Designer.

  7. You can use Nero designer or download free cdstomper software label maker or get cd templates for Word or photoshop and type in and design there. I personally suggest Photoshop your hands are open to putting snap shot from your movie and put text on it or dissolve layers of text or pictures that are very cool. By photoshop I mean the simple version that comes with epson scanner forexample it is great. Most of the other SW are not well designed it is a hastle to browse to your picture or will not print accurately in place. Cd stomper is ok but browsing is teribble everytime it starts from its own folder. One other suggestion print on Hi gloss labels it looks like photo quality, make sure you center "Precisely".

    set your margins in Word to: TOP = 16.7mm; BOTTOM = 16.7mm; LEFT = 41.3mm; RIGHT = 41.3mm with Legal size paper selected and go nuts
    overall dimensions are 273.05mm X 182.5625mm & your spine measurement is 14.2875mm

  11. Personally I use Surething CD Labeler - It s got lots of templates (including DVD covers), tons of fonts and special effects,
    and supports Lightscribe labels (which is nice for my Lightscribe - enabled drive). Nero Cover Designer is not bad either, although more basic.
