  1. Hi! Is there anyone who knows how to open VOB files with Vegas Video 3? I´ve been trying to do it but it is almost impossible, it takes a loooong time to recognize the type of file and when I drag and drop it to the edit area, it takes another loooooooong time to mount the frames. And I am not mentioning the edit, it is sssssslow!!!!!
    What I am missing?
Thanks for those who help me,
    Alex

  2. Hello,

VOBs aren't in a supported format for Vegas to read. Contrary to common believe, a VOB file is not an MPEG2 mirror. It contains additional data chunks within its stream. Those choke in Vegas, as do Divx files. You should strip the VOBs with something like SmartRipper, exposing them as MPEG2. Then take them into the Vegas Batch Converter and decompress them as .avi. Once you have them decompressed you'll have much more ease editing in realtime with Vegas. Obviously though, you need the drive space to do this kind of work.
