hello there, need some help from you guys with regards to vcd encoding. my question is will it be ok to encode AVI to VCD with just an onboard video? system specs are as follows:
athlon xp 1600+
shuttle xpc SK43G
256 mb PC2100
40 gb and 120 gb HD
unichrome 64 mb onboard video
onboard sound (AC97).
i'll do no video editing on this rig, just plain AVI to VCD encoding. im just concerned if my encoding time will be affected by just using an onboard video. or will i be able to do away with the encoding process with just an onboard video? thanks in advance.

CPU speed affects encoding times the most and video speed affects it very little. Assuming that you are doing nothing else at the same time.

thanks guys, this rig will be doing nothing else while encoding is going on, and gaming is a no no too, except for the lone mario forever game installed. now im on to my project, many thanks again.
