    Please help.

I seem to have a problem with Procoder encoding my DV avi files to Divx, i have tried all different settings aside of the default but when it is played back, either on procoder or media player it is unrecognisable, all pixelated etc, then the program (media player or procoder) crashes.

It is ok encoding to any other format but just seems to be when Divx is the prefered option.

I have in the past used Dr Divx without problem but I bought Procoder for because it is more flexible for my needs.

Any one have an idea why it would do this???
Hmmm, time to kick ass and chew bubble gum....But am all outa gum.

which version of divx are you using ? procoder works best with the version that comes with it and installs with it ...

I installed procoder with the defult settings which i assumed was the standard decoder, since then though i have upgarded to the latest version.

Not sure how I verify my latet version though. However it still does the same irrespective of what version i use. I have replicated the same settings from Dr Divx but the result is still the same, very blocky and unrecognisable, then media player or procoder just shuts down...

when you install procoder - it gives the option in the second part of the installation to install divx.. then you have to register it .. it has NOTHING to do with default settings as it is a seperate install.

if you installed dr. divx , you prob. changed the version you installed with procoder ..

so the question is - what version are you really using?

Which version of procoder exactly are you using ?

What settings are you using ?

What codec was used to make the DV files in the first place?

and more importaint - what are you using to decode divx ? as there is a LOT of choices -- this is more than likely one of the issues ..

Procoder itself encodes fine to divx and has no issue that way you describe...

Procoder DOES have some bugs if you do not have a lic'd copy ... this has been noted several times..

I use Procoder for MPEG work.
    I don't do DIVX. I use XVID.

    Interesting.

I will look at the codecs when I get in from work.

Basically I import to DV avi from my camera using premier pro then open up procoder and want to use that to encode the avi's to divx.
