    i need to make some avi files i have into mpgs or wmv was just wondering what p;rogram i should use also want to make the files as small as i can when there in the mpg or wmv formats

    sorry i mean i need to make them in the MPEG or WMV format what ever makes a smaller file size

    You can re-encode your avi smaller, but you will lose quality either way. Try the h264 codec encoding with the SUPER encoder.

    Search PM
    Windows Movie Maker and either the High Quality Video (large) or High Qualtiy Video (small) templates for WMV.
    If in doubt, Google it.
