  1. I am having some problems with burning my DVD's. First off, i am using TMPGEnc for compressing(my cousin recommended it to me) and im using Nero VisionExpress to burn. I converted a movie with TMPGEnc and when i went to go burn it(thinking that i already skipped the middle man by converting to MPEG2 ahead of time) Nero show that the file size after will be 7GB!! I need to know what I'm doing wrong here. I know that movies can only be burnt in MPEG2(TMPGEnc says DVD, but same thing). Also, why would nero have to reconvert it to a bigger size, whne i already did the converting.

    Thank you

P.S If i should be using a different program, just let me know.

Edit: Not the thread I was thinking of, but it's the same general explanation.

After converting you need to author your mpeg then burn. Nero is attempting to re-convert your files, turn off "make standard compliance" in nero or use another authoring/burning program like TMPGEnc DVD Author.

IF TMPGEnc says it's not supported then check this: https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems

  6. what is dvd authoring?? Will it work on my DVD player??
I also just tried installing a dvix codec, and it now reads it, but the output says that the audio and video will be individual streams. How would I combine the 2 after i finish encoding??

Authoring will combine the two streams if you use something decent like TMPGEnc DVD Author.
