  1. I'm looking for an easy way to simply add chapter breaks to a dvd that I pieced together from various sources. I used rejig to get it in the DVD format (several VOBs). Anyway, I just need to some how add chapter breaks and maybe build a simple menu.

I've been messing around with DVD-Lab but it's too much for what I want to do... is there something out there that is more or less a point and click solution to this?

    Thanks!

I'll second that choice of tool...

Some of the freeware ones may do it, but they'll have to accept VOBs.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

  4. Sorry it took me so long to get back to the thread. First off, thanks for the replies and suggestions. I gave TMPGEnc DVD Author a go since you can download a 30-day trail and Sifaga was right: very easy to use and got the job done. Plus it's only 68 bucks so maybe I'll have to get it.

I think it could be a little easier to use though. Like selecting chapter points. The version I used actually made me key them in (i.e. manually type is the time in this format 00.08.28;14). That's not so bad I guess, but you'd think they would have a button that would do it based on the current position of the video.

The other thing I'll point of is that the "tv safe area" is worthless. I kept my text within that border and it still got cropped on my TV.

That criticism aside, it's still a pretty darn good. I especially liked the animated "motion" chapter selection option.

Thanks again for the suggestions. This place rocks.

    It does!

Open your project and click on the Source Setup tab if it's not already selected.

Click on the Edit Clip tab.

Now, navigate to the individual I-Frame locations where you want chapter points and click the long tab at the very bottom (Add current frame to chapter.)

There's a way around this also. I'll bet if you spend a little more time working with the pgm, you'll get.
