I'm thinking of purchasing a Philips DVP 5500
That's the European name, I've also seen 5505S and 5500S, not sure if they are the same player with just different names.

Does this player play packed bitstream without problem ?

I've read the comments here on this site, but is there anything more than someone who has used this player would add ?
I'm getting it primarly for DivX/XviD play back.
