Is there any mpg2 encoder that can figure out the bitrate of a new file to be, depending in the place it should fit, or the size we may want it to be/become?

  4. I use TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress in one of the steps, Set output you pick destination type, Example: DVD, XDVD, VCD, SVCD, AVI, MPEG, or Windows Media Video Output....

then for example say you pick VCD or DVD, it'll set the bitrate for you to fit. However you can also set the output file size and it'll adjust the bitrate. Suppose I choose DVD DL format, 8.5 Gig, But want to fit three avi's onto it. I can either add the 3 AVIs and tell it to fit the DL disc and in the Encode step just choose output a separate files so I end up with 3 named files, or Do them separately and set each to use 1/3 of the disk So I can mix & match onto a disk.

    Cheers

Edit: Not to mention batch encoding. I usually set up a batch of files and run them overnight. And the batch could be first set to DVD format, second set to VCD, 3rd set to SVCD, 4th set to AVI. However I usually do DVDs..... One weak point doesn't handle VBR MP3 good. So for those files I VDub to wave and add AVI for video and Wave file for sound. My fault for messing with VBR MP3, live and learn. With AC3 plugin output aC3 sound.
