hi iam new in this i just want to know if there is any way to take a mpeg
back to avi format in order to authoring againg if so please tell me what i need to do it

There is probably no need to go all the way back to an AVI if all you need to do is reauthor. Use TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day fully functional free trial) and use the Add DVD Video button, and this will let you add an already-authored VIDEO_TS folder to your project. Make a menu, insert chapters or whatever then output and burn.

Going back to an AVI means you would need to re-encode the DVD to AVI, then re-encode (again) the AVI back to DVD, which is IMO a great waste of your time, and is almost certainly going to lose quality.
