Hi all,
i'm looking for some way to rip out short clips from a bunch of DVDs, essentially these will be "samples" of the film so i only want a scene or even a clip. Preferably i'd like to keep the filesize around 1.5 megabytes.
Any ideas ?
(oh, and i need to know what i am ripping so i am gonna need some way to specify in and out points i guess)
cheers

fairuse wizard. select what you want, set the output size and rip to divx or xvid.
-
yep, if you want dvd mpeg2 clips use dvd shrink instead.
-
then we're talking basicly the same format as the DVD came in right?
nah, i need this to be more ... hmm "versatile" ... mpeg-1 would be great so i think i'll go for fairuse.
Thank you! -
fairuse wont export into mepg1
either divx or xvid like Baldrick saidI love it when a plan comes together! -

I had a very similar question in mind, re being able to excerpt just an individual scene or sequence, in DVD-ready format. Preferably with max. quality + the max. possible ease of use (no IFOedit or PGCedit type tools), including being able to easily preview the From Here --> To There points. Don't want to lose the sync sound, either. I know it refers to a totally irrelevent tool for this, but the name "Virtual VCR" sort of describes what I'm looking for. -

Assuming I did something wrong, which will be correctable next time, I think this method may suffice. However, it would really be great if there was a way to take the clip out more precisely, say with a time-based indicator. So, if one knew the desired clip went from the point of 1hr.: 14min.: 21sec. to whatever, you could just grab that.
