AC3 sound problem

i have an mpeg file that uses ac3 filter for sound , i have the ac3 installed on my pc so when i play the file om my pc , it plays with no problem. i have sound and it plays perfectly. now when i go to encode it using tmpegnc after it finishes encoding, i try to play it . it plays without a problem except i have no sound. can anybody please help me to resolve this problem.

if you are going to make a dvd
demux the ac3 with tmpgenc->tools->mpeg tools
add the new converted mpg in tmpgenc dvd author and select the ac3 as the audio

if you want mpeg audio convert to mp2 with ffmpeggui and add it to the new mpg with tmpgenc->tools->mpegtools->multiplex.

yes i am making a dvd , i am not sure what do you mean by demux. i went into mpeg tools i get a box that tells me simple multiplex, demultiplex ect....then it says type, video output , audio output and type. am i suppose to load the file in here , please explain.......i am kind of new into this....please be patient.
