DVD+R get's scratched under burning

I have a bunch of TDK DVD+R but often it happens that the burning is making the movie jump chapters or menues and so on. It also scratches the disc under the burning and sometimes black spots appear on the cd
Anyone know what's wrong

Most likely when there is a problem playing the movie is media quality. If you say your discs get scratched it is not seating well in tray when it is going in perhaps or there is a physical damage to drive. Dvd drive is so inexpensive these days, if the damage causing is totaling to $50 to $60 then buy a new drive. You also save money buying good quality media.
Price per good dvd = Total price paid / Number of good burns
Don't burn faster than rated speed for the media that is a reason too.

Well my dvd-drive is a very new and expensive sony model and the cd are TDK witch also is a good media
Anyhow my dvd-burner may be a little damaged as you say...
And the files I burn are about 4300 each...could that be a problem?

TDK is CMC CD-R, and that's not really great media.

Scratched discs may be dirt or lint in the drive, or a faulty part inside making it wobble.

Expensive doesnt mean quality.. i have used Sony, Lg, Lite-On. And would take an Lg or Lite-on any day of the week. Sony is a big name but Lg or Lite-on outsell and outproduce in this area.. A solid product.. with that being said if your drive is very new as you said i would take the unit back for exchange or another make, model all together when you have problems from the start its usaly a bad sign. With computer hardware it will either last the next 20 years or be ready for the crappy in a couple of weeks save yourself some headache and replace it while your still able

Well no matter what it's a sony DAV-SR2 and it's kinda the top of sony's products right now...and the cds allso did pass the test on this site as "good" so it's not that problem
I was just wondering what happend to my burner since it scratched the cds...I allso read that it could be because it was getting near the limit (4,3)

Like Trident5 said, that doesn't matter. Sony would be one of the last choices I would make for burners and it doesn't matter how high end it is. Years ago they made the best DVD players but now their highest end player isn't even close to the best.

I had a laptop that used a built-in Sony burner that put small scratches on discs while burning. I ended up having to place black electrical tape over all exposed, sharp surfaces. It fixed the problem and luckily the tape didn't move.

Electircal Tape...omg, I have a 8 inch right angle disc grinder with 50 grit disc that you can use to smooth those edges. It spins at 3500 rpm? It works wonders on stainless steel.

well considering the fact that it is a sony burner & it's defective i would try to get a replacement and sell it to a chump (maybe on ebay)..

either way, i would buy a new burner.. benq 1620, pioneer 109, nec 3540..
