  1. Hello.

I just used D2SRoba with DVD2SVCD to re-encode an .avi file.

Now, the video came out fine. (used CCE)

But, there was an error on the audio conversion. I am unsure what happened.

Can I go ahead and use something like BeSweet GUI to do the audio by itself, or does the encode of the video and audio have to be done at the same time to make sure it is in-sync.

I just want to make sure everything will be insync audio wise when I make the dvd.

    Will this work?

Generally, yes, but all kinds of sync problems may arise. If the AVI audio is AC3, just demux it with VirtualDub and run it thru AC3fix. If <>AC3 in AVI, I'd extract the audio to wav using Goldwave, then encode wav to AC3 using ffmpeggui and author.

  3. According to Gspot, the audio of the .avi is MP3

    0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-2 Layer 3

That is what it says under codec.

Anyway, so just extract using goldwav, then encode to AC3 using ffmpeggui and I should be set?

  4. Well, I changed what you said a little bit.

I used VirtualDub to extract the audio to .wav

Then I used ffmpeggui to convert to .mp2.

Normally when I convert .avi files, .mp2 is my audio. I have never worked with .ac3.

    So, this should work correct?

Yes, it should. Just author to HDD first, and take it for a spin using PowerDVD or similar. If OK, just burn. If there is some kind of sync problem, add silence/cut some at the start of the wav to compensate, encode to mp2 again, and give it another go.
