    is it worth it to get it for mainly mp3/audio playback and some vcd playback?

    My opinion, No. I have it for about half a year now and I'm not happy about this player at all. I bought it because of it's portability. But it's performance is horrible. Beside, it not plays VCD, CD and MP3. No DVD or SVCD. And the battery life is short. So technically you have to plug in the AC adapter all the time.
