Easiest method is to use the "Screen shot" function provided by many software DVD players, like PowerDVD. But as max DVD picture resolution is 720*576 (PAL), that's how good it gets.

  3. They should make a sticky for this question.

Wait a minute..... It's already there:

Sticky: How to capture a photo off a dvd or mpeg file?

I think the poster may be hoping to get a grab that ia as good as a high rez image file and not just how to to a normal screen capture with a player app.

    But then again maybe not.

You cannot get a frame grab that exceeds what the video resolution is. If it is NTSC normal DVD it will probably be only 720 x 480 which is simply not good enough for any serious image work.

You might be able to get a fullscreen grab, but while that will be as alrage as your desktop, it will be interpolated from the original DV res, so it will likely be soft and grainy.
