What Sony DVD Recorder do you have? I have a RDR-GX300 and have been using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4 which has never failed ripping any DVD recorded on any of my DVD Recorders.

I have spent way too much $$ on others, already (123 XCopy, the complete Nero Suite, etc.)

If DVD Decrypter cannot read the IFOs, then I doubt anything else can either. It might be your computer drive not seeing the disc, that can happen too.
