What Sony DVD Recorder do you have? I have a RDR-GX300 and have been using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4 which has never failed ripping any DVD recorded on any of my DVD Recorders.

I, too have had this problem (I also own the RDRGX300, like one of the repliers above). DVDShrink does not recognize them, and neither does DVDDecrypter. And, I have tried six or seven deifferent DVD-Rs that were definitely finalized. I have never had this problem with the other DVD recorders that I have experience with (a Panasonic, and an Lite-On). Only with the Sony.

If anyone has other solutions, (other than the ULead suggestion above), please let us know. I am glad to hear that that program will probably solve my problem, but I would like to avoid purchasing a major piece of software just for this chore. I have spent way too much $$ on others, already (123 XCopy, the complete Nero Suite, etc.)

If DVD Decrypter cannot read the IFOs, then I doubt anything else can either. It might be your computer drive not seeing the disc, that can happen too.
