    I have an AVI and a SRT file.

    I have extracted a M2V from the AVI using TMPGEnc

    I have extracted an AC3 frm the AVI using ffmpeggui.

    I have converted (i think sucessfully) the SRT into a SUP using TXT2SUP

    I am now trying to re-mux the whole lot together into DVD format.

    I have tried IFOedit, but this fails on the subtitles.

    I dont quite know where to go from here.

    Please can someone help, or give me suggestions.

    thx in advance

    If you want to convert your avi with srt into DVD with selectable subtitles, the simple way, just try VSO DivxToDVD.

    If you want to make a DVD out of your M2V and AC3 with subtitles, then you need a DVD authoring program. Look in Tools section.

  3. Authoring problem;

    Just use the .srt sub stream in the correct (same)framerate as video in author mode. Sounds like you have everything prepared???.

    Try Rejig
    Quality is my policy.

    NOT helpful - please dont assume i am stupid. i have a number of authoring prgrams, but cant get any of them to even accept input of a srt (or sup) file.

    Although it hsnt finished yet (and i have got to go to work) It appears to have worked for video and audio streams but failed on the subs? Tho i am going to attempt to change the subs colours when i get home this evening and see if that makes a difference
    <edit>

    <edit 2>
    used rejog it failed. but used rejig in IFO mode and i noticed that the audio and subs stream werent ticked, re-processing ifo now
    hope it works
    <edit 2>

    PS how can i check that the SUP file has the same framerate?

  5. You may also try to use the SRT file directly without converting to SUP. Gui for dvdauthor, dvdauthorgui and dvdlab accept SRT files.

    DVD-Lab pro that is...
    I've done exacly like you've done, but used srt2sup instead of txt2sup, and authored with IfoEdit. Take care and note the subtitle palette tho. (srt2sup gives you the palette in its output window after finishing, then edit the ifo with IfoEdit accordingly, after authoring)

    I'm talking of the new version of DivXToDVD.
    Open your video file, click on the blue button (expand tree). This will expand the tree of your video source in the left window. Now right click on Subtitles and "Add Subtitle Channel", find your .srt and add to the tree.
