I'm doing a DVD project entirely on my laptop computer. All is looking well except for the very final stage of creating a DLT for the replication plant. All DLT drives appear have a SCSI interface. How do I connect a DLT drive using the firewire or USB port of my laptop?

I didn't have much luck finding a Firewire DLT external drive. As Firewire 800 matures, there should be more available in that interface. Meanwhile, if you can pick up a external SCSI DLT drive, you could use a PCMCIA to SCSI adapter such as this: http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?src=FG&item=3881 There are probably more out there. You might want to go to Adaptec for more info.

You can write the DDP files to the HD if your authoring app supports it and your Rep house take it.
If not I'd get someone else to master the project to DLT or rent a system to do it.
Some have had luck with:
