I am running an AMD K6-2/350 w/ 160mb ram, a DC10+ capture card w/ dedicated 30gig drive. I capture in DC10 software, then batch render my projects in TMPGenc ver. 12b. I use 12b, because it is the only one that recognizes the DC10 MJPEG codec. I had Win98 1st edition, and everything was smooth as could be. I upgraded to Win98SE (Why, I don't know?), and all hell's broken loose. TMPGenc keeps crashing at random places on different files. No rhyme or reason. It worked great before. Would render 60+ hours with no problems. All my drivers are current, including Direct X 8.1. Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions? Please?

  3. First off, did you upgrade to Win98SE or did you do a clean install.

If you did an upgrade, I hate to say it but wipe it out and do a clean install.

Also, which version of TMPEG are you using? I used all the 1.2x versions without a hiccup.
Then tried using 2.0 and locked up every time i tried a frameserved file. Did a clean reinstall
of Windows and everything behaved. Nuts but thats Windoze for ya!

    Hope this helps,
    Ian

    iant,
Did an upgrade and it screwed up, so I wiped the drive clean and started from scratch. I am using 12b because it reads the mjpeg dc10 codec. Maybe I'll try 2.0. Have any other suggestions?
