How can we author a DVD that can play at least two subtitles at the same time?

DVDA can do that. As far as I know you can copy the chosen subtitle and paste it on the same screen. After that, you can modify the text which of course is a copy...Both subtitles will be shown at the same time.

As the PowerPlayer above, I guess we must choose a primary one, to then choose or not a secondary one.

So you want to make a menu where you can choose 2 subs at the same time...Mmmmm..I don't think that's possible. Am I wrong? Sorry, I don't know how to do it. Maybe you can get some more help at DVDA forum.

Whwre I have seen this done before, the user could only choose one subtitle track. The second track was selected automatically as part of the selection, with not input from the user. Example - the Lone Wolf and Cub films run with a selectable English subtitle track. If chosen, you get one suntitle track with dialogue across the bottom, and a second, occassional subtitle track running across the top with historical or language explainations. The user does not choose this second subtitle track.
It might be possible with something like DVD Lab Pro where you can get down and dirty with coding.Read my blog here.
