Karaoke Software Question

Is there such a software for the pc that would allow me to play this karaoke disc on the computer?

The link above is selling a machine that comes with 2 cds, which include 10,000 karaoke songs.

I think it's a vcd that contains 5000 midi songs and 5000 lyrics that play along 1 little video clip.

Check out one of my past posts helping someone with a Malata Karaoke player.

Those machines are non-standard, specialized machines. AFAIK, you can only get the content from them, no DIY.

Sorry, I dont know what those shorthands AFAIK & DIY mean.

I took a look at your previous posts.
It's for replacing the background video. Neat idea, I wasn't thinking of that yet. Will try it sometime.

But there's no mention of a pc software that can play the midi vcd. Does such a thing exist??

Yes, that Malata thread was referring mainly to replacing the video, but it ended up getting very deep into the disc structure. Problem is, the *.DAT file, IIRC (If I Recall Correctly), that contains the Midi files--and probably the Karaoke lyrics--is a proprietary one that most midi editors that I tried balked at. It may yet be openable, but I haven't found an app that can do it.
Without being able to open/edit/save it, there is no way to replace it or create your own.

I would think that the only sources for PC playback software would be from the very companies that make the products and player hardware--Malata and CAVS. If they don't have it, nobody will.
