cyberhome 1530 can it be fixed?

This is the reason I had to get a new recorder and why I am forever staying away from cyberhomes. All of a sudden it stopped formatting at 80 percent no matter what brand I used. It still plays dvds but won't let me use it as a recorder. Only had it for 6 months. I am just keeping it as a player but it would be nice if I could get the recorder part of it going again. Thanks for any help.

My dad has had his Cyberhome repaired several times. I believe he told me that he went through Radio Shack to have it repaired under warranty.
