  2. 1. Open the AVI in Quicktime. Does it play with audio?
    2. Encode again by using "Decode with Quicktime", but this time disable the "Normalize audio" option.

  4. Point 3) is indeed the problem. You must wait for the "Finished" message (the audio is encoded after the video has been encoded). Try again and keep "Normalize audio" disabled.

    About 4), Sizzle should accept both mp2 and ac3, though the new version seemed to have problems with ac3, I suggest to look for the old version.
