    Hi,

I just installed windows media center for the first time to test it.
I really like it, but I have a problem => I installed my tv card correctly and my old program still works with the tv card but in windows media center when i want to setup my tv it says => cable tuner not found, and the only thing I can click on is OK!!
    Does anybody know this problem?
I have a pinnacle PCTV Rave card!

    Thanx,
    Jelle

The card may not be one of those on the approved list for MCE. Also I'd try uninstalling the software that you were using prior to MCE so that it doesn't try to take over the tuner.

No, uninstalling the software you used to use with the tuner, usually the software the came boxed with the card. Uninstall that as it may be interfering with MCE's ability to access the card.

I uninstalled the software but it still says => tuner not find.
I think that's normal because now my card don't work in windows either, don't you think?? :P
Stupid windows with that stupid list, why don't they just import all the tv cards???

MCE is fairly rigid about supported components. It is OEM software intended for new system builders. It does not support legacy devices.

And isn't there any crack to let it work under media center??
I think it's just a computer so their need to be ways to do this, maybe someone has a patch or something I think (and i hope).
Well, maybe in the future I buy a new and better tv capture card but till then I want to use my PCTV Rave, even if it isn't a really really good card, it's usable for now!
