I've spent quite a few hours searching for the answer to my problem, but have not found the answer.

Here's what I'm trying to do--I am taking portions of video from multiple DVD and I want to burn them to one DVD (think if you had a lot of CD's, and you wanted to make a CD compilation).

Here's what I'm doing so far--I use DVD Decrypter to rip and demux the files. I then use TMPGEnc to multiplex the files into an mpg. When previewing the mpg at that point, the audio is in sync at the beginning of the DVD, but as the video goes on the audio gets more and more out of sync, and by the end it's out by an unacceptable amount.

Where am I going wrong? What can I do to prevent it?

    thx

  2. Previewing with what software?

Did you test original decrypted file? Yes, this should be in synch, what we need to find is a software that will play it accurately. This does NOT necessarily mean the demuxed and remuxed file will also play correctly, though it should.

What filetype used in TMPGENC for Mux?

Many progs do NOT accurately play video, could very well be software issue.

Suggest burn to DVD-RW and test in standalone.

The originals on the DVDs are most certainly in sync. I can't test the original decrypted file because I demuxed in the same step.

Previewed the mpg with Windows Media Player and Roxio DVDMAX Player. Error seems very consistent across both players. By the end of the file (1 hour 11 minutes) the audio is prob about a half second ahead.

In TMPGEnc, I import the m2v and ac3 files, and export an mpg.

  4. Suggest Decrypt again without demux to test the validity of PC software playback. Also test playing DVD in the PC and check for synch.

Also suggest Demux and Remux using same program.

When you mux in TMPGENC, you must specify a FILE TYPE. MPG2, MPG2 SVCD, etc. What setting used?

Again suggest burn to RW and standalone play to test synch. MANY synch issues are false issues introduced by the PC and/or software.

Did the decrypt without demuxing, it's in sync there.

File type was MPEG-2 Program (VBR) (that was the default).

  6. Try to mux with ImagoMPEGMuxer (as mpg).
