I downloaded videoinspector to compare encoded clips produced from arcsoft showbiz and pinnacle studio. When videoinspector examined the pinnacle studio mpeg it gave a thumbs down on the video codecs and showed sony codecs on the screen. Everything works fine with Pinnacle on my machine. Would downloading the sony codecs improve anything? I've read a lot about the free panasonic dv codecs also. Would that be of any benefit or would it just muddle up my currently working system?
Also when I use videoinspector on an AVI file the graphs are a sea of red showing no distinction between the frames. What's up with that?
Thanks.

Anyone?!?
I thought one of the guys who worked with videoinspector posted on this forum.... -
I've personally only tried the Panasonic DV codec, and am quite satisified with the quality I get from it.
