  1. I've ripped/backed up my Ice Age DVD, and want to put just the movie on my Archos.

When I play the movie on the computer, just the soundtrack - not the director's nattering plays, but when I use Divx 6 converter and choose either 5.1, or 2 channel andconvert to avi, dump it on the Archos, all I get is the director's soundtrack.

I'm obviously missing something - anyone know what?

Ripping with DVDShrink ( tried DVDdecrypter movie only with the same results).

when ripping your dvd with shrink or decrypter deselect any audio tracks you dont want, just leave the one you want.

when backing up with dvd shrink right click on the preview screen and you can preview any of the soundtracks on the dvd(just in case) after previewing the tracks you will know which ones to deselect.

    that should fix it.
I love it when a plan comes together!

what could be happening is that you are converting advd with multiple audio tracks and your portable player probably doesnt recognize multiple audio tracks therefore only playing the first audio track that it finds(probably directors commentary)

I didn't realize you could r-click and see - I've deselected all but the 2 channel stereo, as the Archos isn't going to do much with the 5.1, but I'll rip it again and see.

Let ya know and thanks for the reply - this is the first time I've had this happen and it's easily confusing me.

The question is that I've left just the 2 channel, and how do I get rid of their ego comments?

so u left the directors commentary only? i dont know if theres any ac3 audio editor and if there is one, the final result wouldnt be worth the effort of using it.

my advice is to rip the dvd again leaving the 5.1

it might be your ice agedvd doesnt have 2.0 movie audio track, only 5.1.

therefore 2.0 is the director's commentary
