I have this player and lately the video keeps freezing for a few seconds and then plays again and then freezes again etc... Very annoying!

Does not matter if it's a brand new DVD with NO scratches or dirt on it or a DVD I rented it does it!

I supposes it's just dirty inside but I never took one apart. Can this player be taken apart and cleaned by the owner without damaging it?

If so whats the best stuff to use to clean it with? And what do I need to do?

    Thanks for any help!

The first step is usually canned air, try blowing any dust from the lens. You could also try a cd/dvd cleaning disc. The last step would be to try cleaning the lens with a soft cloth and alcohol. Of course it might not even be dirty, it could be out of alignment. In which case it will need to go into the repair shop or be replaced. Replacement is probably cheaper.
