  1. Hi
I wanted to change brithness/contrast in avi file because the movie was too dark. I tried to do this in VirtualDub.
When I tried to open it in Virtualdub I've got message:

VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source Avi file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compability. This may introduce up to 2991 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the "entire" audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder, (bitrate: 159,3 4,2 kbps)

Dispite this message I opened file in VD. I've changed contrast ratio and of course I went to compression and I set up this for the same codec which was orginally.
After this I press "ok" and I've got this message:

    Error decompressing video frame 0:

An unknown error occured (may be corrupt data).
    (error code -100)

What I"m supposed to do to be able to change contrast. Maybe I supposed to use different application ?
What is reason that I've got these messages. This movie is playing well on the computer but I want to play this file on my standalone divx player and video is a little bit too dark. By the way - there is some way to change contrast without changing - "touching compression" ? ).

If you adjust brightness for raw computer display, it will be far too bright on a TV. Alternative is to use a good overlay viewer program when watching on the computer.
