I've used CloneDVD for sometime and generally it's a very reliable piece of software.
However, there are odd times when it will throw up a CRC error when reading a DVD, which might or might not be cured by cleaning the disc.
More concerning is that at odd times it will appear to have gone through the burn process OK but the disc is unreadable, almost as if it's blank. At times like that AnyDVD will often report it's been unable to read the disc and Kprobe won't even run it's test.
It's possible of course that the media is faulty but a friend of mine has also experienced the same problem even when using media type that's burned OK before.
Most times DVDDecrypter will burn the DVD or image file OK so I can get around the problem even if this means cleaning the source media first.
Looking through these and other forums there are numerous DVD burning software packages, Alcohol120%,ONES to name but three but I haven't been able to find anything that has the facility within CloneDVD to remove unwanted titles, subtitles and audio streams. I'm aware of DVD Shrink but I think I'm right in saying that the re-author command removes the menu structure and you can't choose which individual parts to remove.
Does anyone know of any software that has the same facilities as CloneDVD to remove specific titles etc. or is it unique in this respect?
Thanks

I don't know of any single piece of software that can do it on it's own, but I do know that VOBBlanker in association with DVDShrink can do what you want - VOBBlanker to remove unwanted titles, then DVDShrink in Full Backup mode to remove unwanted audio and subtitles.
Both are free, so that makes the minor incovenience of having to use two separate programs worthwhile for meIf in doubt, Google it. -
Thanks jimmalenko for the quick reply.
I'll take a look at VOBBlanker. I already have DVD Shrink although I haven't really used it much.
Does what you say infer that CloneDVD2 is unique in being able to rmeove titles, subtitles etc.??
Footnote: Have downloaded VOBBlanker and taken a quick look. methinks it will take time to get to grips with it. In the meantime can you preview the video clips to see what you intend to remove and the finished edit? -
Just had a thought since my last posting.
Anyone care to explain why vobBlanker would rip the DVD OK but everything else I'd tried failed with CRC errors.
thanks
