G'day all.
My PC starts prety fast, but it seems to take for ever to shat down. I have tryed the following:
"Shat down faster"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Session Manager\Memory Management
Change the value of ClearPageFileAtShutdown to 0. Close the Registry and restart your computer. Whenever you turn off XP from now on, the paging file won't be cleared, and you should be able to shut down more quickly"
But ClearPageFileAtShutdown was already set 0.
It is not a critical problem but it is annoying
Thank you for any help

I think WinXP Pro performs a lot of background tidying-up jobs before shutting down, and the idea is that you needn't wait anxiously till the screen ultimately does go black. It's probably best to let your OS go about its background tasks without interruption.
WinXP's reliability comes from it's remarkable behind-the-screen housemaid activity.
Thanks.
