All I know is that it is a 8mm and Super 8mm with sound, autoloading and etc. I got it for $30 and it should be here next week.
Anyone have any experience or a manual for such a beast? I don't know anything about it or how to use it. I am going to convert lots of old footage via the MiniDV camera.
Any thoughts on this model?

manuals here http://www.craigcamera.com/ib_sears.htm
going to cost you as much as the projector though
sears might also have them -- they are pretty good about such things ..
they use standard bulbs at least"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Bell and Howell made them I believe - so they are built very very well if so ..
if it is a Kodak Du-all , it is a piece of crap as those used the cartridge system and are compicated to use .. or useless for your needs ..
does it look like this ?
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
That looks exatly like what he put on eBay for the pic of it.
Is that the Bell and Howel version?

no - that is the sears version .. it says sears on the side ..
those are very good projectors and easy to use - almost as good as an elmo"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
I just got it yesterday after I posted and the one I got looks nothing like the pictures above. It is a small black square box. You pull the side off and the plastic pickup reel is snapped inside the lid.Originally Posted by BJ_M
I put it on, fed the 8mm standard film through it, set the adjuster for 8mm. It feeds through fine, but when I flip the switch to FWD it pulls the film through and dumps it on the floor since neither reel spins.
If you take the back off and watch the gears, on the FWD setting the gears pull aways from teh reel gear leaving them free. When I do a FST FRWD or REVERSE the gears pop up and spin the reels just fine.
What am I doing wrong?

PS Also, she did not take the bulb out and wrap it in foam. The filament was broken on receipt. Contacting shipping since it was insured. -
hmmm - that one sounds like the kodak model which is a piece of sh*t ...
see if there is a switch for cart or reel on it somewhere - if not ... maybe why it is on ebay ... i dont know anything about those models, maybe it is missing a belt or something ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
The person said they tested it before shipping and it worked fine. I told them I'm holding off on their Feedback until I see how they take care of it. Hell, I got it because the auction said the bulb worked. now I have to get antoehr one which will cost more then the projector.Originally Posted by BJ_M

if it is autoloading - the takeup reel has to spin or it is not really "autoloading" (as you have found out)

It appears there is supposed to be a rubber outer band on the gear next to the reals. I cut a vacum line frommy truck and put it on the reels and it works fine now. Now I have to find a bulb.Originally Posted by BJ_M
