  1. Hello,

I have a large amount of data that I have to put onto DVDs, around 400GB, and I'm in a time crunch. I would like to be able to burn mutiple DVDs at one time to save time. Here is my setup -

    - 4 Computers each with a DVD burner.
    - One Buffalo Tech Terastation (1.0TB) Gigabit Networkable Hard Drive
    - A Netgear 16 Port 10/100 Switch

I would like to burn 4 Discs at a time, each at 4x. I think I'll have to get a gigabit switch. Is there anything that would make this not possible? Can the hard drive dish out this much different data at a time? What are my options?

I am using Macs and Toast 6.0.9.

Must I use more source hard drives?

    Thanks,
    Remy

  2. If all the files for this data are on the same HD, irrespective of how it is connected, I think you may struggle to burn 2 or more DVD's at the same time. If you were top copy the 4Gb or so of data for each DVD to the local HD for each burn you would be safe tho.

Copy 4Gb to the local drive of Machine 1, start the burn. Then copy the next 4Gb to Machine 2, start the burn etc.

I ditto what bugster says. Its a good suggestion. You dont want any buffer under runs occuring during the burn process.
